While we were in Las Vegas last December, we wandered through the Flamingo Habitat over at the: "Flamingo Hotel". It isn't just full of beautiful pink flamingo's, the ponds are filled with these giant Koi as well. I loved the pattern on the water that was from the palm fronds that kept most of the ponds in shadow. It is in the desert after all, but these fish seem to be thriving there. I'll be visiting this place again the time I'm there, when I have more time to sit and meditate, draw, use my camera, people watch, etc. It's a very quite place, perfect to contemplate life's mysteries.

Such striking color the Koi is! I agree with you the ripples in the ponds create very interesting texture and light patterns to your piece.
