Day 86

This is a photo of the Shenandoah River.  The hills in the background are part of the Blue Ridge Mountain.  This is such a peaceful place where you can get acquainted with Mother Nature on a one-on-one basis.  The trees are considered second growth forest since during the civil war, all of the trees were burnt to the ground.  No place for the enemy to hide and the families could see the action better from their hillside picnic areas.  When the clouds would come down and touch the mountain, it would give you the chills,  really creepy feeling.  Ghost fog and on many nights, lingering canon fire could be heard in the distance.
